Getting Grandma
Just returned home from a six day trip to Missouri to bring my beloved Grandma Hartley home to Idaho. She will be living with my Mom and Dad, just 40 minutes from me. It was a hard, but fun trip, and I am so excited to report that Grandma is doing great. She will be turning 96 in November and I never thought I would have the chance to really have her live near us again! Christmas this year will be the best ever! Grandma taught me so much about antique quilts, she is my number one source for information. My family is so blessed to have her with us. I will be posting photos soon.

Our Team
We had a ball today, taking photos for our website. We have a great team, Taylor (my daughter) with her daughter AveryLayne, Nora, Cori and myself.
I couldn't ask for a nicer group of young, hardworking women!

Antique Quilts
What a passion I have --antique quilts! I think I need an intervention, as I cannot stop myself from constantly searching, estate sales, old farmhouse sales, antique shops....I leave my name with anyone who might possibly come across one someday, pleading with them to call me if they spot one. My dream is to turn the corner on the way to a sale, and see quilts hanging on the line, from the porch railing, stacked on blankets on the lawn. Okay, my heart couldn't handle that so God hasn't granted me that one (although He has given me so many blessings, I cannot even begin to count them?!)
Fortunately, my passion is also a business, and all but the family quilts are for sale. That is how I can afford to buy them--I have to sell them! It is okay, because for a little while, I get to hold them, to admire the fabrics, to be in "awe" of the tiny stitching, and I dream a little about what the maker was like, what her life was like.....
I love my job!

Lowering Your Blood Pressure

sister sent this to me --and I want you all to watch it, not only will it put a
smile on your face, your blood pressure is guaranteed to go down 20 points!
It so reminds me of being a young Mom, and letting my little girls enjoy the
unexpected treats that come their way....

Welcome Home
I love blogs. I love having a peek into another person's life, so here I am to share a little about me, and I hope I can offer some interesting thoughts and ideas along the way.
First and foremost, I am a Christian and love the Lord Jesus. You know the footprints poem? Well, that is the foundation of my thoughts about the trials and tribulations that life has given to me, and how I have, as a weakling wreck of a girly girl (most the time!) have gotten thru some real ordeals.
For those of you who aren't familiar with this poem, here it is:

Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
